What are the CertTESOL course entry requirements?
Goldstart CertTESOL courses are open to anyone fluent in English or interested in becoming an English language teacher. Our CertTESOL courses give you English language teacher training.
- You should be at least 18 years old when you start the course.
- You should have completed secondary education up to the age of 18.
- Your English language skills should be good enough (ideally CEFR level C1) for you to:
- understand the course material and
- feel confident about teaching the English language.
What course support do I get?
If you have technical questions or problems with the course, contact us by email, and we will answer your questions or address your issues.
The CertTESOL Plus is a self-study course with dedicated trainer support.
You get assessed by online tests that you take during the course. In addition, you write and submit assignments for your trainer to mark. Finally, you get feedback from your trainer, who is available to answer your questions.
The CertTESOL is a 100% self-study course.
You do not get marked by a trainer; you get assessed by online tests during the course.
If you have questions about your understanding of the material, send them to us by email for review. We will answer all questions except those that require us to give you additional tuition or guidance on what is available in the course.
How do I get a training account?
You create your account when you pay to enrol on a course. You will get instructions after you have applied for a course and been accepted.
How do I log in?
You get login instructions after you have applied for a course and been accepted.
How do I reset my password?
You get password reset instructions after you have applied for a course and been accepted.
How long will it take me to complete the course?
It is possible to complete the CertTESOL course within two to three weeks. The CertTESOL Plus takes a little longer.
However, we cannot give a precise answer because the courses are self-study, so you set your schedule.
The CertTESOL course has 160 study hours, and the CertTESOL Plus course has 200 study hours. It is up to you how you organise your study time.
How do I collect my CertTESOL certificate?
You collect your Goldstart CertTESOL or CertTESOL Plus certificate when you pass the course.
You can download and print your Goldstart CertTESOL or CertTESOL Plus certificate from the course.
Contact us for more details if you want a hardcopy version of the Goldstart CertTESOL or CertTESOL Plus certificate mailed to you.
What information is on my certificate?
Your certificate shows:
- Your name
- The title of the certificate
- A description of what you completed
- The date you got awarded the certificate
- A QR code that allows authentication of your certificate
- The signature of the Managing Director
- The Goldstart TEFL logo
- The International TEFL Accreditation Council accredited certification seal
IMPORTANT: Your certificate DOES NOT have the word "online" on it.
Can you mail me a printed certificate?
Yes, we can!
There is a 25 Euro fee for printing the “Goldstart CertTESOL”.
We will mail your certificate by standard mail for free.
If you want it sent by a courier service like DHL, FEDEX, UPS, etc., we will send you the price first.
You must pay all fees in advance.
Please note that courier fees and delivery schedules are not standard for all countries. Every country has its own delivery cost and schedule.
Can my certificate be authenticated?
You can authenticate your Goldstart CertTESOL using the QR code shown at the bottom-left side of the certificate.
Does my TEFL certificate have an expiration date?
There is no expiration date on your Goldstart TEFL certificate.
You get lifetime access to the course content and material.
